Cyprus Post Registered Post 2026 Change: Documents and Letters Only

The 2026 Registered Post change

From 1 January 2026, Registered Post sent internationally from Cyprus is for documents and letters only. This is an important change for anyone who used to send small goods by Registered Post abroad.

What changed

Before the change, Registered Post was a popular low cost way to send small goods abroad with tracking and signature on delivery. From 1 January 2026, international Registered Post covers documents and letters only. Goods can no longer be sent by international Registered Post.

What to use instead for goods

  • Parcel Post: for goods, with full tracking, in CP or CX format.
  • EMS: for urgent goods, with priority handling and full tracking, in EE format.
  • For documents and letters abroad, Registered Post still works, with RR tracking and signature on delivery.

What senders should check

Before posting, confirm at the post office that your item qualifies for the service you chose. If you send goods, do not label them as documents. Wrong labelling can delay the parcel or return it. For official service details, use the official Cyprus Post website at https://www.cypruspost.post/.
